We started a new way of teaching every child maths in April 2008 after two days whole staff training. By June, Y6 were doing work like this.

Welcome to Woodberry Down Community Primary School
Woodberry Down has been a successful primary school for many years. Our approaches to teaching - particularly phonics, effective marking, handwriting, ICT and the inclusive curriculum - receive considerable attention. Woodberry Down is now the lead school in a federation of Hackney primary schools – the Best Start Federation. We are also a National Support School.
The community around Woodberry Down is changing rapidly – we are in the middle of one of Europe’s biggest non-Olympic urban regeneration projects. The area is becoming known as Woodberry Park.
With so much going on we make sure that we always remember our core purpose is to ensure the best possible start for every child: our staff are firmly focused on this at all times.
