Our evening to celebrate Turkish, Kurdish and Turkish Cypriot culture was held on Mon 3 April 2006 from 6pm-8pm. It was a huge success!! Over 300 people came, raising over £500 for a Turkish charities. As well as raising money, we did lots more and had loads of fun!
A group of children from Year 6 made a huge papier mache mosque, we painted a special backdrop for the stage, we had Turkish dancing, a Turkish bazaar, loads of Turkish food, lots of people from different community organisations (Day Mer, FWA, Turkish Cypriot Association, Kurdish Association), a children’s zone and an amazing raffle!
